In 1884, four years after the first class graduated from the Royal Military College, an alumni association was initiated, resulting in the inauguration of the Royal Military College Club in 1885.  As the Club now supports members who have attended Royal Roads Military College in Victoria, British Columbia (1940-1995) and College militaire royal Saint Jean, Quebec (1952-1995, reopened 2008), the Club name was modified to the Royal Military Colleges Club of Canada.

With the approval of the Club General Council, twelve Branches have subsequently formed across Canada, with one in the United States and another in Australia.  The Nova Scotia Branch has been in existence for many years and is the only Branch in the Maritime Provinces.  Recent Branch Presidents include: Bill Gard (current); Bryn Weadon; Erin O’Toole; Malcolm Palmer; Tony Goode; and Don Cleveland.
